LU Could Suspend Classes, Postpones Gatherings

Large public gatherings at Lakehead University are postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 virus.

In a statement from the school, it says the policy will remain as per guidelines from the federal government.

The school is also preparing to possibly temporarily suspend classes, as well as having staff and students work in remote settings, reducing the amount of human contact.

LU is also not supporting travel to regions with a Level 3 advisory or greater, and will approve international travel by students or university employees on a limited case by case basis.

The university also indicates health units in Thunder Bay report no cases, but add for everyone to keep up with practices such as hand washing to keep the virus at bay.

Lakehead is cancelling this weekend’s annual LUNSA Powwow.
