More Students Get Day Off For Strike

Students of Franco-Superior and La Verendrye schools in Thunder Bay will join all Catholic students for a day off Thursday.

The union representing their school board, the AEFO, has called for another one day strike for teachers and education workers to protest its dispute with the Ford government over contract negotiations.

They are joining the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association, which planned last week for a one day walkout on Thursday.

The union adds day cares will stay open at the two Thunder Bay schools.

The walkout by the AEFO also affects schools east to Marathon, also Long Lac and out to Dryden.
