Pride Central Celebrates A Quarter Century

It’s a big week for Pride Central at Lakehead University.

Spokesperson Deanna Kerkvliet says they are celebrating 25 years as an organization.

She says they are holding events all week starting today with a morning ceremony and breakfast starting at 10 o’clock. They are holding their 25th Birthday Bash event at The Study coffeehouse in Lakehead University tonight from six o’clock to nine o’clock.

The organization began in March of 1995 calling itself The Bi-Sexual Gays and Lesbians of Lakehead University. Kerkvliet tells us since then they have changed the acronym to include more identities.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
