Chatting w/Olympic Champ Catriona Le May Doan

Yesterday I had the pleasure of broadcasting live from the Fort William Gardens leading up to the Opening Ceremonies for the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games. Such an amazing event to have here in our city. I met many wonderful people including athletes, their family members, coaches and event organizers. One of the people I was lucky enough to chat with is an Olympic legend! Speed Skating Gold Medallist, Catriona Le May Doan (pictured with our Station Manager Scott Pettigrew.)

Catriona’s on the National Board for Special Olympics and tells us about the impact of the games, and her connection to Thunder Bay!

Below is the list of events and where they’re taking place. Click here to find the full Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Thunder Bay 2020 schedule and results!

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
