The Special Olympics Canada Winter Games are going to be underway in Thunder Bay starting next week.
Spokesperson Barry Streib tells us the athletes are looking forward to the flurry of activity that begins on February 25th.
“I know they have some competition to focus on but I tell you they have fun doing it, they make new friends while they are competing, I know they are going to do really well. We can’t wait for everything to start to be honest,” Streib says.
Thunder Bay is going to host 1,200 athletes, coaches, and mission staff from across Canada as well as more than 800 family members and friends.
