Make The Right Call On 211 Day

United Way is doing its part in supporting and advocating for the vital 211 community and social services hotline.

United Way Director of Philanthropy and Community Engagement Jodie Wilson tells us emergency officials and others are trying to raise awareness of why for most calls 211 is the right number to call.

“This campaign is focused on making the right call, so it aims to help people in our community assess the appropriate services through 211 while reducing congestion caused by non-emergency calls made to 911,” Wilson explains.

Members of the emergency service are helping to share their “Make The Right Call” message by posting about it on social media.

The 211 Ontario North website is the public online version of the database used by information and referral specialists for the 211 telephone service.
