All English Catholic schools are closed today in Thunder Bay, as well as all public elementary and high schools due to on-going contract disputes with the government.
There was a bargaining session yesterday between the Catholic board and government, but that ended up going nowhere. A statement last night from Education Minister Stephen Lecce indicated more discussions are needed.
English Catholic schools are expected back to class tomorrow, while the Lakehead Public School board tells us high schools will be open Wednesday and Thursday, but public elementary schools will be closed those two days.
