There is a warning about a new challenge that has become popular on the social media platform TikTok.
It shows people inserting a coin between a plugged-in cellphone charger and an outlet.
The Electrical Safety Authority in Ontario warns not to participate or share this challenge. They say it could lead to electrical fires and pose a serious safety risk.
They note, “despite the electrical damage caused by their actions, some TikTok users continue to put themselves and others at immediate risk for injury or fatality.”
