The Ford Government’s pre-budget consultation committee is going to hear concerns from our local health unit.
Pre-budget consultations are in Thunder Bay tomorrow and Medical Officer of Health Janet DeMille tells us they are going to be telling them just how important their work is and why it requires proper funding levels.
“The government is proposing some significant changes to public health and those are already being implemented in terms of the financial side and that has real implications to what we can do and how we can address public health pressures.”
For those organizations or residents who aren’t taking part in the in-person session, you can send in a written submission by 6 pm on Friday.
There are 22 presentations planned for the stop in Thunder Bay on Tuesday. The pre-budget consultation session gets underway at 9:00 a.m. at the Valhalla Inn.
