Charity Raises $22K For Outdoor Cooking Space

Local food growing charity has big plans for an outdoor space at its headquarters on Fort William Road.

Roots to Harvest’s Erin Beagle tells us they recently raised over $22,000 to build an outdoor cooking space at their location the Monty Parks Centre. “A big outdoor oven, an outdoor firepit and a meat smoking area. So much of the work we do involves cultural and traditional ways of cooking and this will let us expand that.”

The project is in the design phase and construction is expected to start by late May or early June.
