Thunder Bay is not expected to be affected too much by a winter weather system aiming for Manitoba and further west to Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada meteorologist Gerald Cheng tells us our area has seen worse than the anticipated 5-10cms. “This snow will start toward midnight and continue into Thursday.”
Environment Canada adds the snow will reach as far west as Saskatchewan. “Extends down into the states, and also upwards into the prairies. It’s sort of like a wall that’s coming through eastward that’s sweeping toward northwestern Ontario.”
Cheng adds the temperature change is part of this weather system. “Be careful out there, do bundle up, it’s going to get cold. If you look at the windchill values, it’s going down to the -30’s.”
The Environment Canada meteorologist is advising to be careful if travelling west.
