Morriseau Elected Police Board Chair

The new chair of the police services board wants to take the opportunity to take a step back and examine the many issues their organization is facing.

Georjann Morriseau was recently elected to the position and tells us she wants to look at each issue closely. “There are reports we are still reeling through, we have the governance and its structure, the work planning the board and negotiations coming up.”

The new police board chair adds they also want to be more accountable to the public with how far they are getting on those issues.

Morriseau was elected to the position this week and replaces Celina Reitberger in the top position.

Morriseau joined the board in January of 2019 and is a former Chief of the Fort William First Nation. She has also held numerous leadership roles in the Thunder Bay community.
