Crime, addictions and homelessness will be the focus of a potential new city committee.
It’s the brainchild of Councillor Aldo Ruberto who says the group would work differently than the Crime Prevention Council.
“The difference is the Crime Prevention Council is looking at upstream issues, this is more addressing issues right now.”
The Councillor says the committee, if it comes together, will look at things like how they can shut down rooming houses if they are a nuisance.
He adds another option is looking to other cities to see how crime and addictions are being handled.
