Someone fire up the coffee at Central Perk, it sounds like the Friends gang might be getting back together! The Hollywood Reporter breaking the news that the six main stars and the creators of the show are in talks for a reunion on the new streaming service HBO Max, which is set to launch in May of next year. It doesn’t sound like this would be a new season of the show though. Word is it would be an unscripted reunion special. Probably Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, and creators David Crane and Marta Kauffman, talking about the show. I still hold out hope that Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross will once again grace our screens though! It’s worth noting that reports are this is far from a done deal. Also noteworthy, HBO Max will be the new home to the original Friends series, as it’s leaving Netflix at the end of the year.
It’s pretty crazy to me that it’s been 25 years since Rachel Green burst into Central Perk in her wedding dress and it’s been 15 years since the finale. I watched the show every Thursday night during its initial run. I also watched repeats in syndication but haven’t seen one in the last few years. A couple weeks ago I decided to start all over again on Netflix. I’m loving it! One thing I’ve noticed is, unlike most other shows I binge watch, I can’t bring myself to press “Skip Intro”. It’s just so darn catchy! Here it the original version of the Friends intro to get you in the mood for a potential reunion of the crew! P.S. My wife went to New York on a trip with her friends last year and one of the other gals just told me that they went to THE fountain! How did my wife not tell me that right away. Talk about burying the lead!
