You can help make Christmas a little brighter for local seniors who don’t have family to be with during the holidays. St. Joseph’s Care Group’s Foundation is once again hosting “Be Their Secret Santa”. The fundraising campaign is entering its fifth year and expects they’ll need to raise $20,000 to ensure that over 300 cleints and community members who would otherwise be along this holiday season receive a gift and a special visit on Christmas morning. Executive Director Gail Brescia tells us they anticipate the need for gifts may be greater this year. Last year the organization brought in over 285 gifts to clients in all of the facilities in St. Joseph’s Care group.
Items that would make good gifts include:
- Adult Pant & Shirt Pajama Sets
- Long Nightgowns
- Hat & Mitt Sets
- Blankets
- Puzzle Books
Brescia explains you can also volunteer to wrap gifts or play one of Santa’s elves and deliver presents and visit with residents of the homes on Christmas morning. Donations must be received by December 7th. To find out how you can get involved click HERE.
