Cannabis Store Approved For First Nation

The province is allowing the Fort William First Nation to set up a cannabis store on its property. However, it does not mean there will be a store in the community in the immediate future.

Chief Peter Collins has already gone on record saying it is a decision which should be made by the band members. There is still no indication when that might happen.

Meantime, the cannabis store approved for Thunder Bay is still not open. Mike Rodenburgh and partner Rick Bohonis plan to open a store at 1082 Memorial Avenue under the Tokyo Smoke banner, but they have not announced when they will be in operation.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
