Advance Poll Numbers ‘A Little Surprising’

Over two million Canadians voted in the first two days of the federal election advance polls over the long weekend.

That is a 25 percent increase from the same two days in 2015 and Thunder Bay Superior North Returning Officer Dale Mason tells us locally the voting started slow.

He believes the “horrible weather” on Friday and Saturday morning kept people from going to the polls those two days at the same time.

The returning officer explains the local numbers are expected to be released tomorrow.

Thunder Bay Rainy River Assistant Returning officer Kevin O’Donnell calls the advance poll numbers “a little surprising” given it was the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
