A big step in the reconciliation process as the Grand Chief of Nishnawbe Aski Nation recently spent several hours cruising the streets of Thunder Bay with city police.
Last Friday night Alvin Fiddler got to see what police see on a daily basis.
“Interesting and educational” is how Fiddler describes the evening.
He says he saw “the social challenges that exist in the community” along with the services that are “stretched to the limit.”
The NAN grand chief explains the purpose of the ride-along was to build a working relationship between the two organizations.
He adds he is open to doing more such ride-alongs so NAN can learn more.
