You can get into the giving season this weekend as the Regional Food Distribution Association is holding their Thanksgiving food drive.
Spokesperson Brendan Carlin tells us their warehouse shelves are barely stocked.
“It’s kind of the start of the season where we build back our stocks. The summertime can be very slow and our shelves get very low.”
Volunteers will be posted at both No Frills, Skaf’s, Westfort Foods, the Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart on Memorial, all Metros, Odena’s in Kakabeka Falls and all Safeway Stores.
The food drive started Thursday night and will wrap up on Saturday.
Last year’s drive brought in 13 tonnes of food and $17,000 in cash.
