Police Hunt For Alleged Car Thief

The recovery of a badly damaged stolen vehicle has provincial police appealing for help to find whoever is responsible.

Police say on October 4, just after 6am, a motorist came across a badly damaged silver 2015 Nissan Murano south of Manitouwadge on highway 614.

Police add the vehicle was moving at a high rate of speed before hitting a hydro pole, with the driver then fleeing the scene.

Further investigation found the vehicle had been stolen earlier that morning from a Manitouwadge residence, as well as a full, red plastic gas can from a boat in the same community.
