Students Encouraged To Walk To School

This month students are being encouraged to walk to school.

EcoSuperior’s Caroline Cox tells us there are many benefits to hitting the pavement.

“Walking to school is not just great for physical health but it also makes great contributions to environmental sustainability. Studies have shown that children learn better when they walk or wheel to school.”

Cox adds students who live far away from their school can still get active.

She suggests having parents drop students off a couple of blocks away from the school so they can finish their journey on their own or with friends.

The Walk or Wheel Program that runs this month is run by Eco-Superior and the Thunder Bay Health Unit.
