NextBridge is starting construction on its $777-million East-West Tie Line project today.
The company says the transmission line from Thunder Bay to Wawa is expected to be done by the end of 2021.
The project was originally supposed to be finished by the end of 2020.
NextBridge and the Bamkushwada Limited Partnership, a collection of six First Nation communities, are holding a groundbreaking ceremony at noon today on Highway 11/17 35 kilometres east of Thunder Bay.
