North Star Air and Agoke Development Corporation are being singled out for their achievements.
They took home prizes at the Northern Ontario Business Awards in Sault Ste. Marie recently.
North Star Air was named Company of the Year in its category of more than 51 employees.
NOBA officials say the company has partnered with Indigenous communities and contributed over $3-million for projects in the communities it serves.
For the First Nations Business Award of Excellence, Agoke Development Corporation took home the award, with organizers noting it plans to create 300 jobs over the next five years.
The 34th annual NOBAs will be held in Thunder Bay in 2020.
