Big Day For Alzheimer Society, Salvation Army

You’ll see some blue lights throughout the city to draw attention to the stigma of dementia.

The Alzheimer Society says today is Dementia Friendly Day and World Alzheimer’s Day.

Along with the blue lights at City Hall, the CN Tower and Niagara Falls, organizers are also asking you to wear blue to show your support for people living with dementia.

Meanwhile, today is the 36th annual Toys for Tots Ride.

Organizers say riders will leave at one o’clock from the Thunder Bay Harley-Davidson, carrying toys to the Salvation Army on Cumberland Street.

It’s in support of the Salvation Army Christmas Toy Campaign gets started at one o’clock.

Salvation Army officials say the donations make a difference for families and children, noting the holidays can be difficult for families who are struggling to make ends meet.

You can also drop off toy donations at the Salvation Army at 545 Cumberland Street North or Thunder Bay Harley-Davidson.
