Once again a stark reminder of the tragedy of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
The Full Moon Memory Walk is going into its 15th year tomorrow and Organizer Sharon Johnson says it’s important to continue to draw attention to those we’ve lost.
“It’s important we keep talking about them and keep the spotlight on them.”
The walk gets underway at City Hall Saturday at four pm and will end at the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway where a ceremony will honour families who have lost loved ones.
The event pays tribute to Sharon’s sister Sandra, who was found deceased lying in the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway in February of 1992.
Her family holds the walk in September because Sandra was born on the full moon on September 26th, 1973.
