An outstanding tax bill is giving the town of Fort Frances some leverage to keep the idled mill intact.
It’s issued a notice of seizure against all personal property located on mill property.
The notices were posted on the gates yesterday but appear to have been since taken down.
The move come after reports certain pieces of heavy equipment were recently removed from the property.
According to the notice, more than $489,000 in taxes were owing.
Mayor June Caul says they sought legal advice before posting the notices.
