A 23-year-old Thunder Bay man will answer to a charge of assaulting a officer while police were trying to help him in a parking lot.
Police tell us they were called to the area near Dawson Road and highway 11/17 early Saturday evening to reports of a man rolling around on the ground.
When police arrived, they say they found man heavily intoxicated, and agreed to medical attention.
However, police add the man became more combative and then assaulted one of the officers.
He was released from custody with a promise to appear in court.
