New Titanic Footage

The Titanic wreckage has been visited for the first time in 14 years and the images have been released. A Triton Submarines team visited the shipwreck south of Newfoundland five times this month and discovered that the Titanic is being swallowed up by the ocean floor and metal-eating bacteria. You can check the footage below.

The tragedy happened in 1912 when the “unsinkable ship” struck an iceberg and sunk, resulting in the deaths of 1,517 people. Such a sad story that still has the attention of the world over 107 years later.

The footage of the wreckage in these latest expeditions, which is around 4,000 feet down, is going to be used for a documentary and was shot with special cameras so it can be used with virtual and augmented reality technology.

The team also honoured the site, in addition to studying and shooting footage. They laid a wreath and conducted a ceremony to honour those who passed away when the Titanic went down.
