Local Store To Keep Trying For Pot Licence

A local accessory store isn’t giving up in its fight to one day have a licence to sell cannabis.

One of the owners of Kia Ora Kannabis, who goes by the name D.J., tells us they are not disheartened after finding out someone else won the Alcohol and Game Commission’s lottery process.

He says “we’re not going to stop trying to get a cannabis retail licence for Thunder Bay,” adding the city will be able to support “numerous stores.”

The manager of the Victoria Avenue store doubts the people behind the winning bid will be able to open the store and be able to meet the commission’s timelines.

The AGCO announced today, Gerald Harrison can now apply for a licence for a cannabis store at 1802 Victoria Avenue East.
