Apartment Owner Faces Hefty Fine

A Rosedale Avenue apartment owner has pleaded guilty to nine counts of violating the fire code in Provincial Offences Court.

The charges were laid for not testing various fire safety systems, not retaining records, and not repairing fire separations in two 6 unit apartment buildings.

The owner was fined $2,000 per count for a total of $18,000 plus victim fine surcharge and costs.

The charge stems from an October 2018 inspection.
