It’s been 50 years since the Woodstock music festival took place. There are so many cool stories floating around as people remember the landmark event. This is one of my favourites. The couple featured in one of the most iconic images from Woodstock are still together half-a-century later!
Nick and Bobbi Ercoline were both 20 when Life photographer Burk Uzzle took their photo. They had been dating for a couple months and two years later they got hitched. The pic ended up on the cover of the Woodstock triple-vinyl sountrack album. Nick says they had no clue about being cover stars until they were listening to the album with a group of friends and recognized themselves! How unreal is that??? Bobbi says it was at that moment she realized she should tell her mother she had gone to Woodstock! As for relationship longevity, Bobbi’s advice is “Don’t stay mad. People don’t grow at the same rate. You have to be willing to let the other catch up or vice versa. It’s never 50-50.”
