An organizer with a concert in memory of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls would like to see it become a larger event next year.
Today is the second concert put on by Sharon Johnson who tells us she would like to fundraise to bring in bands from Manitoba.
Johnson lost her sister Sandra, who was found deceased lying in the Neebing-McIntyre Floodway in February of 1992.
She tells us she wanted to hold the concert to pay tribute to her late mother who loved music and never saw justice for her sister Sandra’s death.
Johnson says music helps families heal.
The concert series is taking place at Waverley Park from 3 until 7 tonight.
