Housing has been a hot – button topic in Kenora recently, especially when it comes to the lack of new apartment buildings in the city.

Doug Lafreniere is the owner of Jarnel Contracting, and tells us his company has already started work for a new 30 – unit build located at 3 Woods Drive.

Lafreniere and Tanis MacIntosh, both investors, spoke to Stuart Walter about why now is the right time to build a new apartment building in Kenora, as well as what prospective tenants can expect once it’s completed.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
