Starting this fall a criminal records check could cost you an extra $5.
The Thunder Bay Police Service is looking to bring the price for most searches excluding volunteers from $55 to $60 plus tax.
Last fall, city police entered into an agreement with the Cobourg Police to process their criminal records check applications.
In 2018, 6,710 criminal records check applications were processed.
Officials say the new process took a matter of days where previously it was a number of weeks or months before an application could be processed.
