City officials are keeping tight-lipped about what is included in a deal reached with local hydro developer Robert Whiteside.
Councillor Andrew Foulds confirms both sides agreed to end a 40-year lease agreement to operate a power project on the Current River down from the Boulevard Lake dam.
Foulds chose his words carefully to, presumably, not divulge details of the deal but added, “this is an agreement where the parties sat down and reached a mutually agreeable solution.”
The dam has been in operation since the 1980s and generated electricity for the power grid.
