Nuclear Waste Drilling Near Ignace

Exploration continues by the Nuclear Waste Management Organization in determining where to find a suitable place to store Canada’s nuclear waste.

The NWMO tells us it has started drilling what it calls a borehole between Ignace and Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation.

The goal is to gather data from the ground that’ll help determine if Ignace is to be chosen over four other locations in Ontario.

The organization adds drilling on another hole will start soon not far from this location.
