Fire crews responded to a fatal house fire on Bethune Street early Thursday morning around 3:30.
Fire Chief John Hay tells us they found one person in the building.
“Primary search we found one victim inside the structure who was removed, CPR was engaged and transported to the hospital in an ambulance. We understand that individual has succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire.”
The Fire Chief tells us he has tasked local investigators to work with the Ontario Fire Marshal while they investigate the cause of the fatal blaze.
Hay can’t provide the age, sex or name of the person who passed away after the fire.
A cause of the has yet to be made public.
