Canada’s Reservists To See Pay Increase

Changes have been made to the way reservists are paid.

The Canadian Armed Forces restructured their pay and now its more aligned with what regular military members are paid.

HMCS Griffon Commander Robert Cooke tells us reservists will see an increase of 7.8 percent.

“The e-mails were flying around and sent out to our own people here that they can do their happy dance now because they got a nice pay increase. So, obviously it is a win-win because everyone likes to be appreciated.”

The pay change will go into effect in August and is retroactive to April 1, 2019.

Cooke add this increase will help them with recruitment.
