HIV Outbreak Declared Among Homeless

Thunder Bay’s homeless and under-housed population are being singled out by the Health Unit because of a declared HIV outbreak.

It’s because of what they are calling a spike in cases in May and June bringing the total so far this year to eight with two still under investigation.

There were 11 cases in the entire health unit area last year.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
