The Ford government is providing more than $1 million to help the agriculture sector in the Thunder Bay area.
Northern Development Minister Greg Rickford announced $400,000 is going to Veumount Farm in Slate River to build barn facilities and to purchase equipment.
Over $300,000 is for Jaspers Dairy Farm in Slate River to build a new barn and to expand crop production.
The Barn in Kaministiquia is receiving over $250,000 to build a larger facility for the transportation of livestock.
The remaining money, $42,000, goes to ASM Innovations to buy a shipping container to provide storage for year round greenhouses.
