Officer And Civilian Injured In Collision

More information is now out about a collision involving an OPP vehicle.

The province’s civilian police watchdog is reporting two OPP officers were travelling on Golf Links Road in an unmarked cruiser yesterday morning at around 11:45.

The Special Investigations Unit says the cruiser then collided with a vehicle coming out of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The driver of that vehicle, a 75 year old man, and the officer who was a passenger in the OPP vehicle, were rushed to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

The SIU says , two investigators, two forensic investigators and one collision re-constructionist have been assigned to this incident.

One subject officer and one witness officer are under scrutiny.
