American Hunter Found Safe

Good news from provincial police in the search for a missing hunter.

They say at around 5pm on Saturday, the 63-year old from Kansas had been dropped off at a tree stand, but didn’t return to a camp, just north of Gull Bay First Nation.

On Sunday police were notified, and the following day, just after 9am, he was found alive.

Police say he followed a sound beacon that had been used, and made his way to the command post.

He didn’t need medical attention.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
