Freedom Road Only The Beginning: Nault

The MP for Kenora says the dedication of the Freedom Road is another step towards equality.

The all-weather road is now fully operational linking Shoal Lake #40 to the Trans-Canada Highway at the Ontario/Manitoba boundary.

Bob Nault says the project is part of the work that’s leading to improved relations between the Trudeau government and the community.

Nault stresses “This is reconciliation, very much at the grassroots level. Basic infrastructure, improvements to communities. It’s what is putting people on the same level as everyone else is all about.”

Nault says that the project could not have happened without the support of the Manitoba government and premier Brian Pallister.

He adds the partnership shows that Ottawa can work with any government, and that things can get done when people aren’t blind to jurisdiction.

Nault notes that this is only the beginning as Shoal Lake #40 is building a new Water Treatment Plant and a new school.
