VIDEO: Picture Created Of Baby Doe’s Mother

Police have released a DNA image of the Mother of Baby Doe in hopes that it may help solve the 1994 case.

The baby was found dead in a garbage bag in March of 1994 at Boulevard Lake.

Officials tell us they went to a special lab in Virginia that has a way of predicting physical appearance and ancestry from unidentified DNA evidence.

Detective Jason Rybak tells us they created the photo by using DNA and says scientists were able to determine the Mother’s ethnicity.

“The scientists are saying the DNA is more than likely from Italy, south Europe is where this person’s heritage is most likely from.”

He goes on to say there is a 77.4% confidence that this person has fair to light brown hair.

Ryback implores anyone who may know about this cold case to come forward. “Solving this case is no longer a question of if, it is now a matter of when. We know there are people out there right now who know what happened but for whatever reason have chosen to stay silent. The time for silence is over.”

Rybak notes the baby was alive at the time he was placed in the garbage bag and he died of hypothermia. Police do not know the age of the mother at the time she gave birth to the baby.

They say they found DNA in the garbage bag that they believe belongs to the mother.

Police are now asking if you have any information about Baby Doe’s Mother to contact their new dedicated tip line at 684-5001.

Specific predictions were made for the subject’s ancestry, eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, freckling, and face shape. By combining these attributes of appearance, a composite was produced depicting what Baby Doe’s Mother may have looked like at 25 years old and with an average body-mass index of 22.
