A lot of people thought they spotted a UFO recently but it wasn’t our alien neighbours, although it was still pretty cool. It was actually Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starlink satellite train, which was launched on May 23rd. The 60 units are the first wave of SpaceX’s planned Starlink internet constellation. The goal of the project is to eventually provide low-cost internet access to the people of the planet, include places where internet is tough to get. The satellites will eventually drift apart from each other but together they’re quite the sight to behold.
You can see how people thought this could be a UFO! Witness reports called it things like a “star caravan” and hypothesized it may be an alien craft or Russia attacking the US. False alarm! It’s just Elon Musk.
