It’s hoped golfing will become a more popular sport in northwestern Ontario with the signing of a new agreement.
Hank Wilkie of the Thunder Bay District Golf Assocation says the deal between Golf Ontario and Golf Manitoba, will open up a wider field for area golfers adding, “our golfers will be able to compete in their provincial championships.”
The agreement also means Golf Manitoba will be able to provide services to clubs like course ratings and handicaps.
The deal was signed in Thunder Bay over the weekend.
