Local Student Films Take Shape

Ecole Gron Morgan grade 8 students have created two short movies as part of a special non-profit’s cinema program.

Haydyn Joseph is the assistant to the production manager on the film Universal Disagreement and tells us their movie is about how their class had a hard time picking an idea for their movie.

“Based off of a true story. Through the movie we go through all the decision ideas we wanted to do and all of the problems we encountered in our way to the movie end goal we have here.”

Meanwhile, Damian Matof is an actor in the second Youth Fusion cinema class and tells us their movie is called “The Bunker”.

“Four people are stuck in a bunker, bombs are dropping outside, each person has their own personalities, they are getting into fights. They have to learn how to survive in there.”

The students will be in Toronto May 22nd to the 24th to show off their work, and will also screen their movies in Thunder Bay next month.

As part of the program the students toured a variety of entertainment related facilities including the offices of 99.9 The Bay and Country 105.
