MPP Speaks For Tree Program

The Ford government is being asked to bring back the 50 Million Tree program.

The iniative, that aims to plant 50 million trees in Ontario, didn’t survive PC budget cuts.

Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Judith Monteith-Farrell believes the program is one of the “easiest ways Ontario can fight climate change.”

She notes “we must do more to fight climate change” adding, “as extreme weather events become more common in this province we need to be pro-active and not simply react.”

The NDP’s Forestry critic reminded the Ford government that when they were in opposition they claimed to support planting three times as many trees as the 50 Million Tree program.
