Local participants in the Hike For Hospice will be raising money and remembering those they’ve lost during today’s charity walk.
Spokesperson Kathleen Buso tells us they are holding a flower release ceremony during the walk around Boulevard Lake.
“People will be given a flower and as they walk around Boulevard Lake they can take a moment of silence and let that flower go into the water. It’s sort of a symbolic wave of acknowledging the grief and letting go.”
This year’s fundraising goal is $50,000.
This will be the first ribbon ceremony that will use a new permanent art installation in a butterfly garden just off the walk’s path.
