There’s a sense of urgency from Current River’s councilor to get federal government money for a number of infrastructure projects.
Andrew Foulds is sounding the alarm bell when it comes to fixing the Boulevard Lake dam.
“The Boulevard Lake dam is a top priority, it is infrastructure that is in terrible shape, we’ve delayed that infrastructure I don’t know how many years now, we’ve gotta get it done.”
However, while the city councilor notes the feds know of these needs, if not enough money is granted, other projects such as fixing the Golf Links/Junot road area will be delayed.
“It is an election year, so we’re certainly hopeful the federal government will come through with some goodies.”
The city councilor adds he’s not sure of the total cost to fix the dam, but if need be, the city will have to move its money around, which includes not working on the Golf Links/Junot road area.
“But also includes our complete streets model. So not just building infrastructure for cars, it includes trails green infrastructure.”
